My Weekly Reflection for Week 8

My Weekly Reflection for Week 8

What I learned this week was:

In Maths I learnt how to order numbers that have there more numbers past the decimal point.

In Spelling I learnt how to spell bicentenary and kaleidoscope.

Thinking about our value of responsibility, this is how I’ve been responsible this week. I think I have been responsible by doing enough time on steps.

My next steps are to be spending enough time on mathletics.

My person who I think has been the most responsible this week is Juan.

 Home heke

Hone heke was a cheeky man, who didn't take much seriously. He killed a lot of people for his land. He originally came from pakaraka. He was eventually the tribe leader of Ngapuhi (his tribe).

His Uncle

His uncle (Te Rauparaha) was given some guns in a trade and was told to kill a lot of people and if he did kill the people he could keep the guns. What he traded the other person was two women  as slaves.

The Treaty

Hone heke and every other moiri tribe chief were asked to sign the treaty of waitangi. Hone heke (as you of guessed) did not take this seriously at all he thought that it was just a game. He thought that he could trick the other tribe leaders into singing the treaty but make it look like they were signing after him and he thought he had control over the whole big situation but he saw a challenge and he wanted to try and do it. In this hard time france and the british were invading. The france wanted to treat the moari like slaves but the moari did not know that. The british didn't want the moari to be treated like that so they tried to make them sign a treaty so they could protect the moari from the france.

When hone heke was young

Hone heke was born in the year 1807. It was hard then because there were the musket wars going around from 1807 to 1831. In the musket wars there were over 3,000 battles and raids and it all started when the moari were given the guns. This made Hone heke used to hard times and it made him a tough man later on in his life.

Teen Life

Once Hone heke was a teen he got picked for the Ngapuhi tribe chief once he got a bit older he got a wife her name was Hariara Ronga a couple years after that he had two kids. But he ended up dead at only 43 because he died from a lung disease called tuberculosis.

My Statistics Reflection

What I’ve got better at or improved upon.

I now know I’m better at understanding what a line graph is and how to draw one accurately. I have also learnt about probability and that some events are more likely to occur or happen than others. You can even use fractions and percentages to show them.

What I still need to work on:

I think I need to work on tree graphs because I am good at

using them but not so good at reading them.

What I enjoyed and what could be better.

I really enjoyed the Kahoots since they were fun plus playing the number spinner games where you had to guess which number might come up. I don't mind reflection there not my favorite but i think we could have more time to do them.
